Jen Dunlap

Jen Dunlap was born and raised in Savannah, where she spent her childhood reading, drawing, and playing in the sea. From a very young age she knew she wanted to “draw pictures every day” when she grew up. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she received her BFA in Painting, and later went on to obtain her MFA in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

In search of realizing her childhood dream of drawing all the time she eventually began designing textiles, working independently to create prints for brands like Madewell, The Gap, Banana Republic, Diane von Furstenburg and more. In 2020 she founded Bon & Venture as a love letter to the iconography of Savannah and the Lowcountry, where she was lucky enough to grow up, and that pulled her back after many years.

As a painter and fine artist turned textile designer, inspired by the flora and fauna of the home that she loves, she set out to create bright, bold silk accessories with an edge, embracing the sometimes contradictory and surprising beauty of the South. Her designs are drawn by hand in pen and pencil and printed digitally on silk. She creates scarves, bandanas, bags, kaftans and beach coverups, each featuring plants, flowers, animals and critters local to Savannah and the surrounding areas.

With Bon & Venture Jen hopes to bring color, happiness and beauty to all who wear or accessorize with her creations!
