Hannah Burtnik

Hannah creates functional pottery and yard art using the process of wheel-throwing and hand-building. She is fascinated by the different techniques to sculpt, add textures and decoration to her pieces. Hannah is particularly drawn to simple white glazing to highlight the designs. All of her pieces are one of a kind.

"My designs are influenced by my lifelong creative endeavors; crocheting, knitting, sewing, cake decorating, mosaics and landscape design.  As a ceramicist, I recognized that one could only have so many plates and cups in one’s life. Therefore, I branched out into ceramic yard art, taking inspiration from my garden. The pieces I create bring something unexpected and fun to the garden: a tree necklace, a couple of garden orbs, a bamboo tree, or a whimsical Garden
Angel.  I look forward to this adventure and evolving as a ceramics artist."

Hannah moved to Savannah with her husband Brian in 2014 to be closer to the ocean. Besides sailing, both enjoy an active lifestyle with biking, tennis, pickleball and hiking activities. They both love the history and the rich culture of the area.
