John S. Norris, American architect designed this notable Victorian mansion beginning in 1861, for General Hugh Mercer, Great Grandfather of the celebrated Savannah song lyricist, Johnny Mercer. In the late 60's Jim Williams, antique dealer purchased and restored the structure. Williams and the Mercer Mansion are featured in the New York Times best selling novel, MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL.
