Tidalholm, The Edgar Fripp Home, Beaufort, SC, c 1993
History has it that after Edgar Fripp came home from fighting in the civil war his beloved home was to be sold on the courthouse steps, due to $250 dollars owed in back taxes. As tears streamed down his face, a compassionate Frenchman bought the house and turned the deed over to Fripp. The Frenchman was on a steamer headed back to Europe before Edgar could repay him. Sharon Saseen has captured this particular antebellum period in her Low Country Limited Edition print titled, TIDALHOLM.
