Marie Brooke Dancers 3

This painting in watercolors depicts the Marie Brooke dancers who performed at the Gullah Festival in Beaufort S.C. It was a festive event that displayed a lot of Gullah and African culture. I really enjoyed painting the bright colors and the swirling of the dancer's dresses. The audience was equally as interesting to me with the attire they wore with vivid colors and patterns. The perspective of the painting shows the person that is looking at the painting is part of the audience that's in the painting.
