Bonaventure (Theus Monument) - Art Print
Giclee print on satin card stock (unframed), signed. It's (probably) impossible to visit Savannah, Georgia and not be captivated by the azaleas and beautiful romantic canopies of oak trees, and I painted this image of one of my favorite spots in Bonaventure Cemetery (made famous by "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil").
This is the tomb of Thomas & Eliza Theus, one of the most photographed monuments in Bonaventure Cemetery. Early spring is the height of Savannah’s azalea season, and the cemetery really is an explosion of this bright pink.
I included some handwriting in this piece, including the factoid that Thomas Theus died in a particular home on Forsyth Park, and the beautiful quote above by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
